[Marilyn] Auntie M's mystery thingy

Hi all,

sorry for shattering the silence on this list (is anybody still here?), 
but I found this MM piccie here that's been bugging me ever since -- see 
the attachment (hope that's ok with Peggy).

Anybody know when/where this picture was taken, and -- what really 
drives me nuts -- what the hell is that thing she's holding? Punch owl?
Bomb? Helmet? Designer teapot? Alien artifact??? I've pored over it for 
hours and simply can't figure it out (kinda like Gary Larson's infamous 
"Cow Tools" toon). Somebody enlighten me please! :^)
